Oh my Giddy Aunt, I have had a fun 3 hours faffing with technologies that are new to me PMSL
Nothing is ever straightforward, is it? Especially in the realms of the mythical, such as ‘clouds’ to store things on. (If that made no sense whatsoever, do not worry, you are not alone, it’s a mystery to me too!!!) As if the internet wasn’t mystical enough, it now has clouds  Ah well LOL
I also had a play with some photo-editing software, but…..not sure it has all I need it to have, so I am posting a test. I really want to make a good job of this sock tutorial and I would really appreciate some feedback from you guys.
Which Pic is better ? Easiest to understand from both photo and text? All feedback and comments gratefully received xx
I think picture number 2 is better and the text has more direction 🙂

I think pic 2. The writing is larger and so easier to read

😀 That’s made me all smiley 😀 It’s a Messy Mansion design.
I wonder how many different mani’s will be on display by the time I get the tutorial done LOL

I like #2 as well – easier for me to see.

Beautiful nails missus! I’d say picture two … but only cause I have bad eyes! I think the wording is easy to understand on both pictures, so purely going on looks 😉 xx

Thank you 🙂 It’s good to know the wording makes sense on both. Def looks like pic 2 is going to be the way forward.
I was just telling magickmogwai, my mani is from a Messy Mansion stamping plate. I might have to take guesses on how many diff mani’s will be on display by the time I get the tutorial done LOL xx

Oh, ditto. Cool nails! And the second picture has more info and works better. (But for artistic presentation, the top one is cleaner, prettier, and has a nice angle….but that’s not your purpose – informing is.)

Thank you 🙂 Yeah, I like the first photo better, but photography really isnt my strong point, and I doubt I could duplicate any of it for the rest of the planned tutorial. Tis nice to have the compliments tho, thank you 🙂

I like pic 2

Thank you 🙂 That one was done just using ‘Paint’, which I finally located on my lappy, the first one was done with Fotor, which was recommended, but turned out to be rubbish where text is concerned.

I like picture 1, but the text is much more readable on picture 2.

Thank you 🙂 I prefer picture 1 too, but I’m not sure I’ll be able to get that….clarity…..every time. Photography isn’t my strong point. But I can try 🙂

pic 2, i could give a tutorial on jpg compression techniques and the mathematics behind it but might send everyone to sleep. I also wouldnt personally trust the cloud for loads of reasons but as its only a few photos its probably ok

Thanks PD 🙂 I’ll…erm…..take your word for it on the doodah wotsit made smaller type thing of which you speak LOL
The Cloud thing – what started off as a wy to get the photos from my phone onto my lappy having lost my cable, and no one else being able to locate theirs, ended up with me activating some of the pre-loaded Acer software on my lappy, downloading the corresponding app to my phone, and then setting my lappy as the Cloud. It was a pretty fraught process getting the backlog of pics across as the wifi kept ebbing and flowing and cutting out, but from now on, whenever I take a picture with my phone, it automatically gets backed up to my lappy next time it’s on 😀 Cool, huh? *feels proud*

The first picture is more clear but the words are easier for me to read on the second one. But my eyes are kind of bad, even with my glasses one. Bigger letters are less frustrating to read.
I like your pretty fingernails.

Thank you 🙂 both for the feedback and the compliment 🙂
The text in pic 2 is definitely better. Pic one, looked ok as I was editing it, but once online, I was shocked at how small the font was, and the software I used for it – Fotor would only allow a max of 100 characters, and no way to change font size, so I uninstalled it. I shall stick with the basic Paint program (now I know where windows 8 hides it) 😀

No. 2 is best

Thank you 🙂 Number 2 is definitely the way to go 🙂

second one, could do with a darker background so the words stand out clearer

I did wonder about the background, but I take the photos wherever I happen to be while I am knitting, but I can experiment with different font colours, or maybe put the words in a box of some kind 🙂

This is late, I know, but I like picture 2 best. The background doesn’t need to be darker, but maybe more plain. The towel loops are distracting.

I never considered that. It’s a good point! I have taken loads of pics for it now – with several different backgrounds…….yikes!! I can crop them though 🙂 To minimise any distraction.

Oh, please don’t worry, it isn’t too bad. I was a graphic artist and web designer/developer at one point in my life so I see things others probably wouldn’t even think of.
