Too Much at Once?

Does anyone else ever have days when they have several ideas/things to write about and end up writing about none of them?

Or days when you start to write about one thing, and find it morphing into something else entirely, and realise you should be writing two (or more) separate posts, but then can’t find a way to break it down into separate coherent parts?

o_O

I can’t be alone in this………

It’s so frustrating!!! *grumps*

I might take a creative writing class… bc my stories end up being long and bloated. 😛

      • Lists… i know, I know, I’m one of *those* people. lol. I despise and love my lists at the same time. I use an app that syncs across my phone, tablet, and my PC, and it can be set up in some many super customizable ways with recurring tasks, with tasks you can assign to other people, with searchable tags and even email and website attachments. Like Evernote, but it only does lists, not anything and everything. I loved it for trying to start a business with a friend because we could share a list and when she added something or I added something or we left a comment on the other person’s items we would get a little notification. Helped us stay on track before I got worse.
My other one is having friends who love to edit, because they will tell you in heartbeat what paragraphs go with what posts. And they’ll be brutally honest about it, lol. I also just do subheadings sometimes so I can cover multiple loosely-related topics in one post without spamming people’s inboxes three times in one day. I gotta start writing again. It’s been a lot of resting and brain fog lately. A lot of flaring. I will get back into it soon. I miss you guys!!! ❤ ❤ ❤

It is good to see you via comments at least 😀 I hope things ease up for you soon (((hugs)))
I have a love/hate relationship with lists too LOL, but I have discovered they are useful for something I never anticipated. If something just keeps getting transferred from an old list to a new list over and over again, chances are it’s either just not that important, or it aint gonna happen. You can leave it off, and forget about it 😀

  6. That describes just about every day for me. My blog posts, they tend not to be single-topic and linear. 🙂

Oh, I am so very glad other people have let me know they get this too 🙂 I do have a grasshopper brain that can bounce all over the place at times, which is fine in the confines of my own head – but in public, on a blog…….eek! But it is better to ramble and roam than have the brain freeze 🙂

This happens to me a lot, too. I start writing on one subject, then my mind thinks of another thing… and another… and another… I wind up with rants & raves covering many different topics… Sometimes my brain is racing and I cannot keep up, so I will have pages of nothing but keywords – which may or may not make sense later. I often say I have the attention span of a goldfish (I start with one subject and an hour later, I’ve covered five more subjects, written pages of notes … and finished none of them). It would be great just to find the OFF switch at times… I agree – VERY frustrating!

Yep, that sounds just like me. It’s extra frustrating because the blog stays blank even tho there’s a lot that could be posted. I wonder what it’s like to have a normal brain! I say I have a grasshopper brain – it jumps from one thing to another to another LOL

Would you believe I have about 35 drafts that will probably never see the light of my blog? With some I have gone in another direction and others I just stop feeling it and can’t go on. I never delete them because you never know…..

So the answer is no, you are not alone in this. 😉

Ah yes, the drafts section. I think I have about 12 in there at the moment. It’s a useful function and as you say…..you never know. But I get that not feeling it thing too but I find it hard to delete any, even so…..because you never know LOL
