Ranty Bint

O_o

It has been a very strange day. There have been times of absolute delight, such as being reblogged by Opinionated Man 😀

There was a weird…coincidence. Something that only last night I was saying hadn’t happened for a good long while,  and so was unlikely to happen again – happened earlier today. How do things like that come to pass? Really. Is my house bugged or something? O_o

And there was a long period of immense frustration and disappointment as I hunted for something online and found it is absolutely NOT available in the UK. Come on!!! Surely we aren’t as behind as all that!?!? *grumpy face*

I even telephoned the UK branch of the company that sells it in the USA, and no, they don’t stock it here, don’t see that they ever will, and no, they can’t get one for me. But you are the same company?!?!? FFS!!!  *bad tempered face*

I could buy this item that costs a mere $3.99 from Amazon.com, but it would cost me £37 in postage. FFS!! Thirty seven quid??? For something that is only made of light plastic, about 3 inches long and only costs about 3 quid ???? That is just ridiculous!! *pissed off face*

I did find something that might do the same job, but even that was hard to track down, with Amazon.co.uk having only 1 left. Well, I grabbed it!! And if it doesn’t do the same job, then I only lost £3, and my Eldest might be able to use it for her artwork.

And due to waking up at 3am this morning and not getting back to sleep until almost 7 am, then awake again at 11am, I am very sore, aches are becoming hurts, and I am ridiculously wobbly on my feet. *mutter, mutter, grumble, hmph*

There is always tomorrow, I suppose : /

Why is it that even your ranting posts are delightful! I had a bit of a day like that too, but you made me smile. Hugs!

Oh, thank you 🙂 I wasn’t feeling very delightful when I wrote it LOL. But I do try and see the funny side, if possible. Glad I made you smile 🙂 and I hope you have had a better day today xx

The mind boggles at what this little piece of plastic is, but then if its not available here it either means we are backward in UK or you just dont have the ‘typical profile’ of the sort of customer they want, or maybe both.
Like Pepsi yesterday deciding they will no longer use some nasty additive in their cola in the US but its ok in the UK as their responding to customers needs.

Ok, Just before I write the next bit, I want you to know – you started this! But I can’t have your mind boggling like that, can I?
It’s a tool, Paul that I shall clutch in my hand and vigorously rub things with. Ha!! PMSL

this is the rant bit i missed 🙂 not been into reading blogs either. I get that wobble thing too. GP said i should think about getting wheels, but i trying to put it off for now as it feels like i am giving into something that, well only i know about, because no one can see it, but i do walk with sticks and fall into things and thankfully not on the floor. No i wouldn’t pay £37 postage either, hope what you managed to get works as you need it to.

I went for an assessment for disability aids at the local red cross place when I began to need more help and the woman pointed out that I would be able to do more if I had one. She was right. It has meant I have been able to go to events and days out that I would otherwise have missed out on. I still dont like it, but its useful.

maybe when i move it will be something to consider as i have steps into my house and therefore wouldn’t be able to use a mobility scooter, but it is something to think about.

I had a grumpy, ranty day last week. It’s no fun when nothing goes the way we want it to. I hope today was better for you and that all your hurts have quieted down. Good luck with your Amazon item!
