Does anyone know how I’ve had referals to my blog from Bloglovin’ when I’m not signed up there?
I did click on the link but the blog it takes me to isn’t one I recognise, although it is about cats.
But I can’t read it properly as I’m not signed up and I’m working from my phone.
This is where the link takes me Here
Can anyone solve this puzzle for me pliz?
**feels a bit of an idjit**
it says the blog lovin blog is owned/run by someone named charles huss , I also get referrals from blog lovin but I too have no account there , makes me wonder how that can be? if you get an answer please let me know, I am also curious

Thank you for looking 🙂 Charles Huss doesn’t ring any bells.
This is the first time I’ve noticed it and there have been 10 referrals in the last 12 hrs. That’s a lot from one place for my little blog here!
Maybe we should sign up lol.
But yes, if I find out, I will definitely let you know 🙂

okay I just signed up to Bloglovin for the heck of it, well to see why we keep getting referrals, as far as I can tell bloglovin scours the web looking for blogs similar or like minded of the Bloglovin’s user’s own blog there, once found the bloglovin blogger can follow you unseen directly from bloglovin, what ever blogs they are following is visible to absolutely anyone on bloglovin, they in turn can click your link and follow you directly or simply follow the original bloglovin user, who is following you…… confused yet? I am !! lol , it was an irritating yet simple task to sign up to bloglovin, and i did so to claim my wordpress blog, once I did that i simply dropped a bloglovin button on the bottom of my blog.

Wow. Its kind of a self perpetuating recruitment device type website thingy. The unseen followers sounds a bit stalkery but its odd I’ve only just seen it yesterday. I think I’ll have to sign up too to check it all out in more depth.
Thank you so much for your intrepid exploration and for letting me know 😀

How puzzling! I clicked on the link but didn’t see any connection other than the mention of cats.

Thank you for looking Trisha. It is very perplexing! I noticed the first referral earlier in the day and didnt think too much of it, but by midnight there had been 10!!

webbots !. small pieces of code scouring the web (or parts of it) looking for particular things. Purpose in this case is probably to boost ego (or site visits) of person at end of the chain.

Webbots? But, if it were a webbot, wouldn’t I have seen referrals from there before yesterday? Especially if the link between my blog and the referring blog is cats. Lots of my posts are tagged with cat words. No, these appear to be actual hits/views of my blog by actual clicks.
I’m going to sign up later anyway, after Butchcountry67’s exploration and feedback 🙂
I’ll reply to your email later too 🙂

maybe, maybe not, perhaps webbot started in last few days to trawl through for stuff then people start following indirectly from the offending blog ?. Or maybe it is something different, it is a bit underhand and sneaky if people can view a blog indirectly via another one which might be acting as a sort of meta-blog

boglovin is a confusing mess! I tried to add my wordpress site to there and it said it did not exist. Do you all see my site? Unless I am really craizier with the disrealization that I think, My site is anniemimihall@wordpress.com Now see? It even comes up here as a real site because my address has a red squiggly line under it. I don;t understand bloglovin at all. i was there for an hour trying to figure it out, whereas I had my blog up on wordpress the first time I used it, in about 10 minutes !
If anyone understands bloglovin let me know too ….
Confused and annoyed,,,
