The End Of a Much Better Day

Yis. I am all tucked up in bed, warm and snug and today has been a good day.
My pain levels are still riding high, but much better than they were on Monday, so I have actually achieved a few things today ๐Ÿ˜€
I organised a bit more of my room, (Yep, still chipping away at that *sigh*).

I got 8 of my chenille ‘squares’ for my bedspread joined up. Instead of sewing them I have crocheted them together. It made more sense to me that way as I am using contrasting colours of the chenille yarn to join them. So this kind of contributes to the overall patchwork effect. I think so, anyway ๐Ÿ˜›

I went shopping ๐Ÿ˜€
Oh, I know that doesn’t sound like any kind of achievement, but it is!! Because I still have no car, for one thing. But my eldest’s other half took us to buy food and spend our gift cards from christmas. It was fun, even tho I used the electric scooter ๐Ÿ˜ฆ but needs must.

Although I had a chuckle at the new scooters. I went to put the arm down at the side, but these new ones don’t have them. Hmmm, I think, that’s not terribly safe. But instead – the seats are grippy!! You go to slide to one side, and you can’t!!  It took a bit of getting used to. Very strange. LOL

And the day was rounded off nicely by watching A Knight’s Tale with the lovely Heath Ledger.

More home improvements have been planned too. And at this rate, it’ll be 2016 before I can afford a car again. But, that’s how the cookie crumbles sometimes.

Me and Rory had an amazing interaction earlier. I was loudly cursing my pain as I slowly got ready for bed, and suddenly there she was next to me on my bed. She put her paw out and patted me a couple of times and so I looked at her, straight into her big beautiful golden eyes. She had a really serious expression as she looked directly back at me and reached out to me again with her paw. It was just as if she was telling me ” its ok, mum, I’m here”.
Part of how amazing it was, was that she didn’t blink or narrow her eyes at all. It was more like another human would lock eyes with you for emphasis, you know?

She got lots of head scratchings and then we played with an odd piece of yarn that I’d missed when tidying up.
I does love my Rory very much and tonight I really *knew* that she loves me too.

So, a much, much better day ๐Ÿ˜€

Me sleepy now. Night night xx

I hate to shatter your illusions but she was probably thinking along the lines of “look here, i dont care if your ill, in pain, or whatever, .. I STILL want attention and feeding, got it”, LOL

Nah, when she wants something like that she’s not subtle. She comes along purr motor on high, head butting and nuzzling. She will sit right on top of anything in front of me – book, phone, knitting so I have to pay attention to her. She’s also very verbal when she wants something. If its treats she wants, she tries to open the drawer they’re in or headbutts it. This was completely different.

  2. My LuLu (Golden/lab) Is very verbal when she wants something, and she butts up against you, paws you etc. When I am in pain, down and crying etc. She comes up to me gently, and cuddles, or places her paw on me, nuzzles my hand to pet her, all of which calms me. She gets my attention away from my pain, or what ever is upsetting me, she calms me, makes me laugh, I love how she comforts me! I am glad you are having a better day. :~)

Awwww bless her! Is there a picture of LuLu on your blog?
    Animals are amazing, aren’t they?
Last year, when me and my eldest went searching for him who went missing, I was sitting by the canal – just heartbroken, crying quietly, and an old staffie boy who was out for a walk with his elderly mum just came over to me. He sat beneath the picnic table and leaned against my legs, both his body and head. I reached down and stroked his ears, bless him. It was wonderful, this dog giving comfort to a complete stranger.

They know when your having a bad day! My two play a lot with each other in the house but never when I’m having a flare up instead they side either side of me and give gentle cuddles. They have always done this without me telling them, animals are very perceptive

I’m glad you had a better day and have such a sweet kitty to comfort you at the end of it. It’s amazing how tuned into us they can be sometimes.

And shopping, by itself, is a major accomplishment!

Yes! Altho I used the shop’s electric scooter, which still feels like cheating *sigh*. I want to get back to being able to push the trolley again.
The worst bit is at the checkout – I always need help. My back means I just cant do the bending and lifting required ๐Ÿ˜ฆ
